Video buses
A device output with a selectable source.
Overview
A video bus is a device output with a selectable source. Pixelrush records a cut whenever the source on a bus changes.
A device may have multiple buses, each tracked independently by Pixelrush.
Transitions
Some devices can transition gradually between inputs (dissolves, wipes, auto transitions). Pixelrush only records cuts. A gradual transition is logged as a cut at the moment the device reports the new input as the live source on that bus. A transition that lands back on the input it started from is not recorded.
Related features
- Continuous snapshots — cuts are captured on every connected bus.
- Recording sessions — a session is scoped to a single video bus.
- Timeline exports — include every cut on the session's bus.
Supported hardware
- Blackmagic ATEM — every Mix Effect (M/E) on the switcher is exposed as a video bus.
