Final Cut Pro
Import a Pixelrush Multicam XML into Final Cut Pro.
Final Cut Pro imports a Pixelrush Multicam XML as a multicam clip with one angle per camera, plus a project whose timeline matches your live cut. These steps were last tested with Final Cut Pro 12.2.
Import a Multicam XML
After exporting a Multicam XML from Pixelrush (see Timeline exports):
- Open the library that holds your camera media.
- In Final Cut Pro, choose File → Import → XML.
- Select the
.fcpxmlfile you exported from Pixelrush. - (Optional) Set Add to existing event and choose an event to keep the imported items together.
- Click OK. Final Cut Pro creates the multicam clip and project, and adds them to the chosen event.
Final Cut Pro does not silently overwrite an existing project on XML import. If the imported items conflict with items already in the event, Final Cut Pro prompts you to replace the existing items or keep both; keeping both renames the imported items. To re-import a corrected XML cleanly, choose Replace at the prompt, or delete the previous project and multicam clip first.
Troubleshooting
Import warning about the XML format. Final Cut Pro may report that the XML was imported with warnings; however, the project and multicam clip should still work as expected. Confirm the imported timeline opens, the multicam clip contains the expected angles, and the cuts line up with the camera media.
No such file or directory. One or more clip mappings points to a relative filename or a file that is not available at the path written into the XML. Use full file paths in Clip Mappings, then export and import the Multicam XML again.
Framerate error on import. The XML's framerate doesn't match the format of media already in the library. Set the session framerate in Pixelrush to match your camera media before exporting.
For upstream issues (timecode sync, framerate drift, capture problems), see the Troubleshooting guide.
